Thermal Ceramics Cerafiber® Wet Pack
Categories: Ceramic

Material Notes: Cerafiber Wet Pack is manufactured by combining Cerablanket®, a needled refractory fiber blanket, and inorganic binding agents. Cerafiber Wet Pack is packaged in moist form in polyethylene bags. It is flexible and exhibits high tensile strength in the wet state. When air dried, it becomes a strong, hard, rigid structure.

Two of its most important features include its freeze-thaw stability and no binder migration. It is formulated so that freezing does not significantly affect its strength. In addition, the binder particles do not migrate toward the surface. A rigid, homogenous structure is present throughout the entire material.

Cerafiber Wet Pack can be used for a wide variety of industrial applications. The flexible sheets can be inserted in hard to reach areas. They are easily cut and can be custom molded in complex shapes to a required size, shape and thickness. When the product dries, a hard surface is created. The rigid surface is ideal for service where furnace velocities are of concern.

Features:

  • Refractory use limit, 2400°F (1316°C)
  • Low binder migration
  • Freeze-thaw stability
  • High flexural strength
  • High tensile strength
  • High heat resistance
  • Applications:

  • Pipe wrapping
  • Valve enclosures
  • Flue and stack linings
  • Engine and power plant insulation
  • Hot-face layer where velocity is of concern
  • Catalytic converter wrapping
