Versalis Europrene® SOL T 172 Styrene - Butadiene Block Copolymer
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Styrene-Butadiene; Styrene/Butadiene/Styrene (SBS)

Material Notes: Europrene® SOL T 172 is a radial block copolymer obtained by anionic polymerization. The polymer is based on styrene and butadiene, where bound styrene is 30% weight. The polymer is extended with paraffinic oil (45 phr). A non-staining antioxidant system is added during the production process.

Key Features: Europrene® SOL T 172 is a block copolymer with radial structure, where the oil addition allows extremely good flow characteristics and an easy processability. The grade provides excellent mechanical properties and outstanding abrasion resistance, in a wide range of formulated products.

Main Applications: Used as a high strength base in formulated compounds for footwear and technical applications, the grade is used in the modification of polymers and in plastic recycling.

Information provided by Polimeri Europa. Mechanical properties measured on ASTM D 4703 compression molded samples.

Versalis is the Eni subsidiary containing the plastics and rubber businesses.
