BASF Palatinol® 79P Linear Phthalate
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: Formula: C24H38O4

Description: Palatinol 79P is a predominantly linear phthalate plasticizer based upon C7 and C9 alcohols. The ratio of these alcohols and their degree of linearity provide excellent processing characteristics, superior plastisol rheology and improved product flexibility under low temperature conditions when compared to DOP, DINP and DOTP in PVC resins

Applications: Palatinol 79P is a general purpose phthalate plasticizer and can replace DOP, DOTP and DINP in most applications; it can also replace general purpose blends that contain these plasticizers. Palatinol 79P exhibits better efficiency and imparts lower temperature flexibility than the above mentioned plasticizers. It is particularly useful in plastisol applications because it imparts lower initial viscosity, better viscosity and stability than branched plasticizers. Typical end uses are traffic cones, automotive sealants, fabric coating, fishing lures, extruded profiles and shoe compound.
