LyondellBasell Petrothene® GA605034 Linear Low Density Polyethylene  (discontinued **)
Categories: Polymer; Film; Thermoplastic; Polyethylene (PE); Linear Low Density (LLDPE); Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), Film Grade

Material Notes: Applications
PETROTHENE GA 605 is a linear low density polyethylene designed for blown film applications requiring an enhanced combination of stiffness and strength. GA 605 can also be coextruded as a surface layer to enhance the clarity, gloss, printability and the heat seal of high molecular weight, high density polyethylene (HWW-HDPE) films. Applications include retail sacks, consumer can liners and packages, commercial and industrial packaging, as well as food packaging.

Processing Techniques
Recommended processing conditions for GA 605 are melt temperature of 400°- 450°F and a 1.5 - 3.0 blow-up ratio. Using proper techniques, this product can readily be drawn below 0.9 mil at optimum production rates. Specific recommendations for resin type and extrusion conditions can only be made when the end use, required properties and extrusion equipment are known.

Regulatory Status
GA 605 meets the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration regulation 21 CFR 177.1520. This regulation allows the use of this olefin polymer in "…articles or components of articles intended for use in contact with food…" Specific limitations or conditions of use may apply.

This product is from the former Equistar product line.
