Covestro Bayblock® Base GS Acrylic Basecoat
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Acrylic (PMMA)

Material Notes: Characterization: Bayblock Base GS is a premium 100% acrylic elastomeric basecoat.

Properties / Applications: Bayblock Base GS is a basecoat with excellent adhesion to asphaltic substrates and the ability to help level the profile of existing granulated surfaces. It is a single component, bleed resistant, high build material. Bayblock Base GS has excellent water-resistance and provides long term protection of asphaltic substrates such as Built-up, Modified-Bitumen roofing and composition shingles. Bayblock Base GS bleed resistance helps the suitable reflective topcoat retain its excellent heat reflection properties. This coating works as a breather to prevent moisture build up under the coating. As with any product, use of Bayblock Base GS coating in a given application must be tested (including but not limited to field testing) in advance by the user to determine suitability.

Covestro sold their spray polyurethane foam business to Accella in 2017.
