Specialty Compounds RTP Company
LKAB Minerals MagniF Magnetite
Categories: Ceramic; Oxide

Material Notes: Minelco develops and markets magnetite, a natural iron oxide (Fe3O4) with unique properties and potential. MagniF is the brand name for specially developed magnetite grades to be used as filler for polymers and rubbers.

MagniF is a very pure and environmentally friendly material that due to its high density (5.1) is very well suited for making high density compounds (in Polypropylene for example densities up to 3 can be reached). Furthermore, magnetite is conductive (both thermally and electrically), heatable by microwaves and ferrimagnetic.

MagniF is applied in high density applications like sound dampening, stabilization and gaining in "quality-feel". Its high thermal conductivity leads to significant cycle reduction by decreasing cooling times. Its electrical conductivity supports ESD applications. MagniF`s combination of properties fits various application areas, from automotive to cosmetics, building and construction to appliances and leisure. Applications:
