Chlorowax products are derived from the carefully controlled chlorination of paraffinic hydrocarbons and alpha olefins. As a group, they are noted for non-flammability and general chemical inertness. They are resistant to the attack of dilute mineral acids and dilute alkalis, and they do not readily oxidize. Chlorowax products are insoluble in water and glycols, and most grades are also insoluble in lower alcohols. They do, however, have an unusually wide range of solubility and compatibility with most organic solvents, resins and plasticsInformation provided by DoverChem |
