Master Bond LED405FL3 One component, flexibilized LED curable system
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset

Material Notes: Master Bond LED405FL3 is a one part system that cures upon exposure to LED light at 405 nm. It will cure rapidly and fully without any oxygen inhibition. Significantly, a UV light source is not needed to achieve polymerization. The speed of cure depends upon the intensity of the light source, the thickness of the layer, and the distance of the light source from the material being cured. The intensity of the light should be 2-4 watts/cm2. Thinner sections will typically cure in 30-45 seconds. Thicker sections will take longer. LED405FL3 bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including plastics, glass and metals. A salient feature is its flexibility, which allows the system to be compatible for bonding materials with different coefficients of thermal expansion. Additionally, it can withstand rigorous thermal cycling, mechanical shock and vibration. It is a reliable electrical insulator with a service temperature range of -100°F to 250°F. LED405FL3 resists many chemicals including mild acids, bases, oils, fuels and water. In fact, a cured sample withstood 12 hours of immersion in hot water (90°C) without any significant change in weight. The system is a good candidate for applications in aerospace, opto-electrical, optical, and specialty OEM, where a strong, flexible LED curable system is desirable.

Product Advantages:

  • One component system, needs no mixing
