Key Features:- Low viscosity
- Superior non-yellowing properties
- Excellent physical properties
- Low shrinkage upon cure
Product Description: Master Bond UV15X-2 is a high performance UV curable system for bonding, coating, sealing and encapsulation. It serves up a brisk combination of superior physical strength properties, very low shrinkage upon curing along with superior non-yellowing properties. UV15X-2 bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including glass, metals, ceramics and many plastics, especially polycarbonates and acrylics. It is particularly useful for bonding dissimilar substrates, and for withstanding rigorous thermal cycling. It has outstanding chemical resistance to water, oils, fuels, acids and bases. Other favorable characteristics include top notch electrical insulation values, fine dimensional stability and superior abrasion resistance. The service temperature range is -80°F to 300°F. Master Bond UV15X-2 system is not oxygen inhibited and cures readily in 10-30 seconds when exposed to a UV light source emitting at a wavelength of 320-365 nm with an energy output as low as 20-40 milliwatts per cm². The rate of cure depends upon the compound’s distance from the light source, the thickness of the section and of course the intensity of the light source. It should be noted that the system can cure in sections up to 1/4 inch. However, when bonding, sections of a few thousandths of an inch are more than adequate. No solvents or vapors are released during the curing process. UV15X-2 is used in fiber-optic, optical, electronic, microelectronic, semiconductor and laser applications, among many others. Product Advantages: - One component system; no mixing needed
- Cures very fast upon UV light exposure
- No oxygen inhibition while curing; no special inert atmosphere required
- Combines impressive physical strength and electrical insulation properties
- Excellent light transmission, superb optical clarity
- Noteworthy dimensional stability and abrasion resistance
