Master Bond UV15X-6NM-2BCL One Part UV Curing Urethane Acrylate System
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Acrylic/Cyanoacrylate Adhesive

Material Notes: Key Features:
  • Moderate viscosity
  • Outstanding abrasion resistance
  • Excellent flexibility and toughness
  • Good physical strength properties
Product Description: Master Bond UV15X-6NM-2BCL is a blue colored, moderate viscosity, one part UV curing urethane acrylate system. While curing, when the light reaches the UV material, it changes from blue to clear. However, if the light does not reach the material, it remains blue. It should be noted that the color change does not indicate that full cure has been attained, but only that the UV light has reached the material. The lamp should emit light with a wavelength range between 320-365 nm, the optimum being 365 nm. The typical energy required is 20-40 milliwatts per cm². Another variable is the distance of the light source from the material that is being cured. Taking into account these factors, full cure can generally be achieved in 30-60 seconds. UV15X-6NM-2BCL is a free radical type curing system that is not oxygen inhibited and will cure in seconds up to 1/4 inch thick. It is most noteworthy for its inherent toughness and flexibility allowing it to resist severe thermal cycling as well as thermal and mechanical shocks. It contains no solvents and diluents and has very low shrinkage upon curing. UV15X-6NM-2BCL bonds well to a variety of substrates including optically clear plastics such as polycarbonates and acrylics, composites, metals and many types of rubbers. It has good chemical resistance to water, oils, fuels, and cleaning agents. The system is thermally and electrically insulating with a service temperature range of -80°F to +250°F. Upon curing, is has superior non-yellowing resistance. This UV curable system can be used in fiber-optic, optical, electronic, semiconductor, microelectronic and laser applications, especially when thermal cycling is a significant consideration in the application.

Product Advantages:

  • Free radical cure but not oxygen inhibited
  • Reliable thermal and electrical insulator
  • Outstanding flexibility and toughness
  • Good abrasion resistance
  • Resists thermal cycling and shock
