Master Bond EP40ND Two component epoxy
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Epoxy

Material Notes: Key Features:
  • Convenient handling
  • Good bond strength in shear and peel modes
  • Exceptional adhesion to polycarbonates and acrylics
  • Meets NASA low outgassing
Product Description: Master Bond EP40ND is a two part, room temperature curing epoxy for bonding, sealing, and coating. This non-drip system has a forgiving 1:1 mix ratio by weight or volume. It is formulated to cure readily at ambient temperatures or more rapidly at elevated temperatures. The optimum curing schedule is overnight at room temperature followed by 2-3 hours at 120°F to 150°F. EP40ND is 100% reactive and contains no solvents or diluents. EP40ND is a superb adhesive and bonds well to a variety of substrates including metals, ceramics, composites and plastics. It is most noteworthy for its affinity to bonding engineered plastics such as polycarbonates and acrylics. EP40ND is also capable of withstanding rigorous thermal cycling and shock. EP40ND is a reliable electrical insulator. It is a relatively low exothermic system and can be applied in thick sections. It withstands many common chemicals including water, oils, fuels, cleaning agents and some acids and bases. The color of Part A is translucent and Part B is amber. The service temperature range is -100°F to +250°F. There are many applications in electronics, opto-electronics and medical devices that utilize plastic substrates, which may be prone to stress cracking. It is important to select an adhesive that mitigates this possibility. EP40ND is an excellent candidate for these types of applications.

Product Advantages:

  • Convenient handling, 1:1 mix ratio
  • Long open time
  • Paste consistency
