Corning Vycor® 7921 UV-Blocking Neodymium Blue Glass  (discontinued **)
Categories: Ceramic; Glass; Optical; Oxide; Silicon Oxide

Material Notes: Absorbs yellow and UV wavelengths through a process that introduces neodymium and cerium to the glass. Because the elements that create higher color temperature and UV blocking are a art of the glass structure, a lamp can be produced without substantial loss of visible light transmission as seen with coated bulbs. It can be run in high temperature lamp manufacturing processes without additional cost or process steps.

Special Features:

  • Superior optical quality
  • Tight dimensional control
  • Thermal and chemical properties ideally suited to high temperatures.
  • Excellent thermal shock resistance
