Saint-Gobain Rulon® AR Bearing/Seal PTFE
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Fluoropolymer; Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)

Material Notes: Rulon® AR is somewhat more flexible than Rulon® LR, hence suitable for seals and bonded coating of slide surfaces. It has many decades of use in automotive shaft seals and fuel metering pump cups. Rulon AR has a practically universal chemical inertness like that of Rulon LR and provides long life and reliability in continuous non-lubricated service. It is capable of operating at PV values up to approximately 10,000 psi-ft/min. Higher PV values are possible for intermittent use applications.

Key Attributes:

  • Universal chemical inertness
  • Long life and reliability in continuous non-lubricated service
  • More flexible than Rulon® LR
  • Working Temperature Range: -240° to +288°C [-400° to +550°F]

Vendors: TriStar Plastics Corp. provides engineering, custom fabrication and manufacturing of high-performance plastics and self-lubricating bearing materials, such as Rulon, PEEK, Torlon, CJ Composites and Ultracomp. Capabilities include component design, material selection, prototype and production, manufacturing and surface modification. Call (800) TRI-STAR (800) 874-7827 or visit or www.TStar.com
