Master Bond MB250NT Single Component Ethyl Cyanoacrylate
Categories: Polymer; Adhesive; Thermoset; Acrylic/Cyanoacrylate Adhesive

Material Notes: Key Features:
  • One component, no mix system
  • Non-toxic as per ISO 10993-5
  • Fast setting
  • Rapid fixture time
Product Description: Master Bond MB250NT is a single component ethyl cyanoacrylate type system. This rapid curing, high strength system is used primarily in applications where the ISO 10993-5 for low toxicity is specified. MB250NT has a low viscosity of 100-110 cps. Cyanoacrylates are commonly referred to as super glues or instant adhesives. Their curing is dependent upon the humidity with the higher the level, the faster the rate of cure. Since the cure is typically fast, only minimal contact pressure is required for bonding. There is no mixing or heating required for curing. Depending upon the humidity and the substrates, MB250NT will typically set up within 10-40 seconds. MB250NT bonds well to a variety of substrates especially metals, composites, plastics and rubbers, especially in the shear mode. The service temperature range for this system is -60°F to +250°F. MB250NT can be used in a wide array of different applications ranging from repair to high speed production in which the ISO specification is required. It has first rate resistance to EtO and gamma sterilization processes. Although many of the applications for MB250NT involve disposable type medical devices, it also can be utilized with reusable ones depending upon the service conditions.

Product Advantages:

  • Rapid curing at room temperature; usually sets up within 40 seconds
  • No heating or mixing
  • Contact pressure usually sufficient for fixturing
  • Bonds well to a wide variety of substrates
  • Excellent resistance to EtO and gamma sterilization
  • Well suited for disposable and reusable medical devices
  • Passes ISO 10993-5
