ChevronTexaco ISO 68 Refrigeration Oil WF
Categories: Fluid; Lubricant

Material Notes: Features

Chevron Refrigeration Oils WF are manufactured using medium viscosity index straight mineral oils. The base stocks are carefully selected to assure the low pour points that are necessary for refrigeration compressor lubricants.

Chevron Refrigeration Oils WF are highly refined and specially treated to resist the sludging action of refrigerants in the presence of high temperature and metal catalysts.

These oils are water-free, which prevents carry-over oil from icing in the refrigeration expansion valves. The oils are wax-free, allowing full flow through filters, strainers, and close tolerance valves. Being wax-free (very low floc point2) assures excellent fluidity at low temperatures, meaning reduced wear and longer equipment life.

Chevron Refrigeration Oils WF provide maximum wear protection to any refrigeration compressor or system in which they are used.

Applications

Chevron Refrigeration Oils WF are suitable for use in any refrigeration system, except those using HFC Freon replacement refrigerants.

The viscosity grade for the application should be based on the equipment manufacturers recommendation. They are particularly suitable for Freon in the modern, compact, high pressure refrigeration systems. Since they are wax-free, they are suitable for use in very cold ambient temperatures as a bearing lubricant or for hand oiling.

Chevron Refrigeration Oils WF ISO 32 and ISO 68 satisfy the requirements of hermetically sealed air conditioning compressors or the many types of smaller units.

Chevron`s primary recommendation for ammonia systems is Chevron Ammonia Refrigeration Oil. Chevron Refrigeration Oils WF are registered with NSF and are acceptable as lubricants where there is no possibility of food contact (H2) in and around food processing areas. The NSF Nonfood Compounds Registration Program is a continuation of the USDA product approval and listing program, which is based on meeting regulatory requirements of appropriate use, ingredient review and labeling verification.
