BMC (Bulk Moulding Compoud) is a reinforced composite material that consists of the mixture of thermosetting resins; glass fiber; cut wire; fillers; additional components Application of this grade: BMC can be used for both compression and injection molding. Injection use is particularly efficient when it comes to production of small technical parts in high quantities. In these cases the BMC loaded into the hopper of the injection molding machine enables high productivity through short cycle times and multi-cavity molds. Production process: It is produced by mixing polyester resin and main additives and the paste is transferred to a kneading machine in which the chopped is added through a dosing system the chopped glass fiber (pre-cut), typically at 6 or 12 mm. After appropriate processing cycles with clockwise and counter-clockwise movements of the blades of the kneading machine the mixture obtained is forced through a transport screw into an outlet, with which the diameter of the packaging is determined. The cylinder obtained is placed in a styrene-impermeable bag and vacuum-sealed. Application of this grade: Engines Information provided by Polmix SPA |
