Covestro Bayhydur® BL XP 2706 Polyurethane Coating
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Adhesives, Sealants, and Coatings; Thermoset; Polyurethane, TS

Material Notes: Reactive, blocked aliphatic polyisocyanate. In combination with Bayhydrol® polyols for the formulation of water-reducible, lightfast one-component polyurethane baking coatings and as an additive in waterborne baking systems to improve hardness, impact strength, chemical resistance and adhesion. Bayhydur® BL XP 2706 is available in a cosolvent-free supply form.

Properties / Applications: Bayhydur® BL XP 2706 was developed as a hardener for water-reducible, lightfast one-component polyurethane baking coatings. As with conventional DD coatings, the degree of crosslinking and the choice of the polyol component influence the properties of coating films formulated with Bayhydur® BL XP 2706. Areas of application include: Automotive OEM coatings (impact-resistant primers, primer surfacer and topcoats) and high-grade industrial baking coatings (e.g. for electronic devices, parts, automotive accessories). Bayhydur® BL XP 2706 is a cosolvent-free, heat-stable (yellowing) and reactive further development of the previous crosslinkers Bayhydur® BL 5140 and Bayhydur® VP LS 2310.
