BiologiQ EcoStarch GS270 Thermoplastic Starch
Categories: Polymer; Renewable/Recycled Polymer; Thermoplastic

Material Notes: BiologiQ GS270 is a plasticized thermoplastic starch (TPS) called EcoStarch Resin (ESR). It is suitable for blending with petrochemical or bioresins where biobased content is desired. It Can be used as a stand alone polymer for certain low-temperature injection molding applications. It is highly compostable and biodegradable. It forms a crystalline structure product that has good strength and low plasticity. When GS270 absorbs moisture it exhibits plastic behavior and becomes flexible. When removed from humidity the material dries out and becomes crystalline again. Used for final products requiring plasticity such as plastic dinnerware, packaging. Blend with PE to make think film products like shopping bags.
