Magnesia Stabilized Zirconia

Material Notes: Property data is typical for commercially available magnesia stabilized zirconia ceramics, and varies with processing and exact composition. The magnesium oxide addition stabilizes the high temperature tetragonal zirconia phase and prevents transformation to the room temperature stable monoclinic phase.

MgO stabilized ZrO2 has high strength and corrosion resistance. Used for structural components, coatings, wear parts, fiber optic ferrules and sleeves, oxygen sensors, and solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC).
