Arkema Lacovyl® PS 1050 PVC  (discontinued **)
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Vinyl (PVC); PVC, Molded

Material Notes: LACOVYL PS 1050 is a vinyl chloride homopolymer obtained by the suspension polymerization process.

* MAIN CHARACTERISTICS

  • Viscosity index (ISO 1628-2):100 ml/g,(K value:64).

LACOVYL PS 1050 can be incorporated with plastisols based on microsuspension - or emulsion - polymerized PVC to:

  • obtain a lower-cost formulation,
  • reduce and stabilize viscosity in storage,
  • enhance pseudo-plasticity,
  • reduce gloss in surface layers,
  • improve transparency and thermal stability while maintaining equivalent mechanical properties and good low-temperature flexibility,
  • inhibit foaming (Congoleum process). By virtue of its exceptionally fine state of division, it can be used in the thinnest possible layers. It is usable in every type of application, at up to 50 phr in certain cases.

* APPLICATIONS

LACOVYL PS 1050 can be used in all plastisol applications, in the manufacture of materials for:

  • the building industry (floor and wall coverings),
  • the motor industry (artificial leather and mastics),
  • the food industry (closures etc...),
  • morocco-leather goods, footwear (artificial leather), etc..
