Lanxess LEWATIT® K 6362 Copolymer Resin
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset

Material Notes: Lewatit® K 6362 is a strongly basic (type I), gel-type resin based on a copolymer of styrene and divinylbezene in the form of spherical beads of a uniform size. The result is an optimal packing and low pressure drop across the resin bed time. Compared to conventional, heterodisperse resins, the Lewatit K 6362 has got better kinetics, and a higher mechanical/osmotic stability as well. Reaction parameters can be held in even closer tolerances, if the resin is used as a catalyst in the flow-through processes. After condition, the Lewatit K 6362 in it OH form is particularly suitable for the following applications:
  • Processing chemicals: the removal of mercaptan sulfur from hydrocarbon streams
  • Catalysis Organic reactions of small polar molecules in the temperature range from 30 to 60°C
In its delivered chloride form, the Lewatit k 6362 shows an outstanding effect in the following processes:
  • Recovery of cyano and chloro complexes of precious metals, either from waste water or process streams
  • Removal of heavy metal ions out of hydrochloric acid solutions
  • Recovery of uranium from both alkaline and acidic solution due to its high capacity and fast kinetics.
