Material Notes: Sandvik 27.7.5.L is a filler material of hyper duplex (austenitic ferritic) stainless steel that has been specially developed for root pass welding Sandvik SAF 2507 and other super duplex steels (UNS S32750 and S32760) where the risk of pitting corrosion is critical. It can also be used for joint welding of hyper duplex (UNS S32707) for wall thicknesses < 13 mm. The grade is characterized by:
  • Excellent resistance to stress corrosion in chloride-bearing environments
  • Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion
