ChevronTexaco Syn-Star® TL SAE 50
Categories: Fluid; Lubricant

Material Notes: Texaco Syn-Star® TL delivers value through:
  • Excellent thermal and oxidation stability — The synthetic hydrocarbon base oil used in this product provides outstanding stability.
  • Extended drain capabilities — Proven field performance for on-highway drain intervals of 500,000 miles and greater.
  • A high viscosity index and low pour point — The performance of the synthetic hydrocarbon base stock provides extremely broad operating temperature ranges when compared with conventional mineral oil based lubricants.

Texaco Syn-Star TL is a heavy duty truck synthetic manual transmission fluid.

It is manufactured from synthesized hydrocarbon base fluids which have excellent thermal and oxidation stability, a high natural viscosity index, and a low pour point.

This product possesses excellent shear stability even under heavily loaded conditions

The low pour point and low temperature fluidity of Texaco Syn-Star TL imparts improved lubrication during startup at subzero temperatures, while the improved viscosity-temperature characteristics provide dependable lubrication at high temperatures. Lower frictional losses in the lubricant film and reduced churning losses, due to the lower bulk oil viscosity, reduce operating temperatures significantly when compared to conventional mineral based lubricants.

Texaco Syn-Star TLs outstanding low temperature flow properties and high natural viscosity index provides superior all-climate, year-round performance in heavy duty truck transmissions.

Its use permits easier shifting in extremely cold weather and less drag and gear wear during startup.

This product is not recommended for use as an engine crankcase oil.

Texaco Syn-Star TL meets the performance requirements of:

  • Meritor International 0-81
  • Eaton Transmission Division PS 164

Typical test data are average values only. Minor variations which do not affect product performance are to be expected in normal manufacturing.
