Master Bond MasterSil 801 One Component, Room Temperature Curing, Silicone System
Categories: Polymer; Adhesive; Thermoset; Silicone

Material Notes: MasterSil 801 is an easy to use, one component, high performance silicone elastomer compound for bonding, sealing, coating and formed-in-place gaskets. This specialty system features ultra high temperature resistance and non-corrosive cure, making it highly desirable for many applications, especially those pertaining to electronics and aerospace. MasterSil 801 is self leveling and bonds well to a wide variety of substrates, including glass, metals and many plastics. The rapidity of the cure depends on the thickness of the layer and the humidity; the thicker the layer the slower the cure. It is extremely soft with superb flexibility and elasticity, and outstanding electrical insulation properties. MasterSil 801 is serviceable over the exceptionally broad temperature range of -75°F to +572°F (300°C). What is truly remarkable about the higher temperature range is that unlike other temperature resistant silicones (e.g. red silicones), MasterSil 801 will not depolymerize when exposed to 300°C and high pressure. In a sense, it can be considered a second generation, high temperature resistant RTV. MasterSil 801 has a paste consistency and is black in color.
