Lehmann & Voss LUVOCOM® 1100-8549 Polyether sulfone with carbon fiber, PTFE, lubricant modified
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polyethersulfone (PES)

Material Notes: Properties/attributes include: Strong, stiff parts; low thermal coefficient of expansion. Dynamically-stressed parts moving at high velocity. Improved friction and wear behavior. Emergency (dry) running property. Electrically conductive, suitable for continuous discharging of statically-generated electricity.

Apparatus- and precision engineering, film- and photo industry, sporting- and leisure goods, medical- and electrical engineering, aircraft- and aerospace industry. Typical uses include: Control disks, cams, sliding elements and other duty parts.

Processing: During processing the moisture level should not exceed 0.05%, otherwise porosity and surface defects (e.g. smearing) may occur. To avoid internal stresses, a low shear load should be used for processing. The parts may be tempered at a later stage to reduce internal stresses. The processing notes provided merely represent a recommendation for general use. Due to the large variety of machines, geometries and volumes of parts, etc., it may be necessary to employ different settings according to the specific application. High-temperature polymers place increased demands on the tool steels employed.
