Material Notes: General Description

SD254 is an ultra-fine tungsten carbide-cobalt plasma-spray powder. The major constituent is W2C. WC as well as Co-W-C compounds are present. The material is too fine to exhibit a Hall flow.

Applications

  • Any application which requires a thin (less than 0.003 inch), smooth, wear-resistant coating, such as low pressure bearing surfaces. As-sprayed coatings are dense and smooth and require little, if any, final finishing.
