DuPont Mobility and Materials VTR 8605 (GF-S) Peroxide Cured Fluoroelastomer (FKM) Formulation  (discontinued **)
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Fluoropolymer, TS; Thermoset Fluoroelastomer; Rubber or Thermoset Elastomer (TSE)

Material Notes: VTR-8605 is a 70% fluorine, peroxide-cured, Viton® polymer similar to VTR-8600 but with a significantly lower gum polymer viscosity of ~25 (ML at 121°C). VTR-8605 utilizes an Advanced Polymer Architecture technology which includes a new peroxide cure site along with an optimized molecular weight distribution designed to deliver a polymer which:
  • Is ideal for blending with VTR-8600 to reach intermediate viscosity ranges
  • Cures exceptionally fast to a high state of cure
  • Shows improved mold release/mold fouling properties compared to Viton® GF and GF-300
  • Shows improved mold flow and less shear sensitivity than 65 Mooney VTR-8600
  • Shows excellent physical properties with high elongation, both original and aged
  • Shows similar heat, fluids, and low temperature resistance compared to Viton® GF-300
  • Shows improved water resistance/volume swell in water compared to Viton® GF and GF-300
  • Shows excellent compression set resistance with either low or no postcure
