Tra-Con Tra-Cast 3357 High Temperature Rigid Epoxy Casting System
Categories: Polymer; Adhesive; Thermoset; Epoxy

Material Notes: TRA-CAST 3357 is a smooth pouring, low viscosity casting resin system recommended for rigid, large mass potting, encapsulating, laminating, filament-winding and coil embedment applications where the combination of superior mechanical and electrical properties plus good heat resistance is required. This color-coded (light brown and blue) epoxy system is easy to mix and handle at room temperature, however a final high temperature step is REQUIRED for its complete cure. TRA-CAST 3357 has a long pot life and exhibits excellent wetting and adhesion to metals, ceramics, glass and glass products, industrial laminates, most rigid plastics and other high temperature resistant products. This durable electrical insulator maintains its high volume resistivity at elevated temperatures, has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, and is stable over a wide temperature range. In addition, it provides excellent resistance to moisture, gasses, petroleum products, salt solutions, mild acids and alkalis and many other chemical materials. An additional post-cure of 4 hours at 145°C is recommended when application temperatures higher than 145°C are anticipated.
