Materion BrushBronze® 630 (AMS 4640) 3.0" - 5.0"  (discontinued **)
Categories: Metal; Nonferrous Metal; Copper Alloy; Bronze; Copper Casting Alloy

Material Notes: Information supplied by Brush Wellman Engineered Materials.

BrushBronze™ 630 is an Aluminum-Nickel-Bronze alloy that combines high strength along with resistance to wear under severe loading conditions. This material, specified as AMS 4640, is frequently used for very demanding aerospace applications, including, but not limited to: bushings, spherical and rod end bearings, rub pads, and wear strips. This material is also commonly used for applications in the oil and gas and other durable goods markets.

BrushBronze™ 630 (AMS 4640) offers several significant advantages over other materials available in the marketplace due to the EquaCast™ process:

  • Higher and more consistent mechanical properties
  • Improved service life
  • Ease of use

Brush Engineered Materials Inc. changed its name to Materion Corporation in March 2011.
