Surlyn® 9720 thermoplastic resin is an advanced ethylene/methacrylic acid (E/MAA) copolymer, in which the MAA acid groups have been partially neutralized with zinc ions. The amount of MAA and neutralization levels for this grade are optimized to deliver low temperature toughness, plus abrasion resistance and stiffness. For wire and cable applications, this grade contains an antioxidant and meets Mil Spec P46124 MR, Type V, Class I requirements. The resin can be injection or blow molded, and is processable by extrusion into sheets or shapes. Data provided by the manufacturer. This former DuPont product line is now a Dow product line. |
