Material Notes: Description: BLUESIL FLD 47 V 3 to 47 V 20 are a low viscosity polydimethylsiloxanic fluids.

Applications: BLUESIL FLD 47 V 3 to 47 V 20 are used as:

  • Lubricants (to lubricate elastomers or plastics on metal).
  • Low temperature hydraulic fluids.
  • Dielectric fluids (impregnating paper for capacitors).
  • Thinning agents for BLUESIL RTV (two component, room temperature vulcanizing silicone elastomers).
Advantages:
  • Very good heat stability
  • Good dielectric properties
  • Low surface tension
  • High compressibility
  • Excellent weathering resistance
  • Good oxidation resistance
  • Low freezing point
  • Less change in viscosity as a function of temperature than non silicone oils
  • Good resistance to high and prolonged shear forces
  • Low heat of combustion
  • Limited combustion.
