Wacker Wetsoft® AE 200 Silicone Fluid
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Silicone

Material Notes: Product description: WETSOFT® AE 200 is a novel modified aminofunctional polydimethylsiloxane for use in nonyellowing, hydrophilic textile finishing.

Properties: WETSOFT® AE 200 greatly increases wearer comfort by virtue of its moisture-absorbing properties. It is therefore ideal for nonwovens and terry cloth. The hydrophilic properties are the result of the special orientation of WETSOFT® AE 200 on the fiber surface. This technology ensures the finished textiles have a uniformly good hand and wetting properties. WETSOFT® AE 200 features low water solubility compared with glycol and quaternary functional polysiloxanes, and thereby provide significant wash resistance. Emulsions based on WETSOFT® AE 200 show a very good compatibility with cationic and nonionic organic softeners.

Application: WETSOFT® AE 200 is an excellent active ingredient in hydrophilic softeners for finishing all kinds of fibers and textiles. WETSOFT® AE 200 provides woven and knitwear, in particular nonwovens and terry, with a soft, supple hand. When applied under normal conditions as part of a softener formulation, WETSOFT® AE 200 has no effect on the whiteness. In fact, it has no perceptible influence on the color or color fastness of textiles and fibers in general. WETSOFT® AE 200 emulsions are applied in padding and exhaust processes and can be used on their own or in combination with organic softeners, polyethylene waxes, and other finishing agents. Individual tests to ensure compatibility should be carried out in advance in order to ensure compatibility.
