Lewatit® MonoPlus M 880 KR is a strongly basic, gel type anion exchange resin (type I) with a monodisperse distribution of particle size based on a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer. Lewatit MonoPlus M 880 KR is manufactured in its high-regenerated form (minimum 95% of OH). Lewatit nuclear resins (Lewatit KR) are highly purified resins which have got a very good stability to mechanical and chemical influence, and to osmotic shocks as well. They allow high velocities due to their excellent hydrodynamic properties. As their monodispersity is very high (uniformity coefficient max. 1.1) and their content of fines very low (max 0.1% for beads <0.315 mm) lower losses of pressure can be achieved compared with standard resins. If they are used in water circuits contaminated with radioactive material, they safeguard a water quality with fully matches the highest demands of the nuclear power industry. Lewatit MonoPlus M 880 KR is specially suited for:- the removal of arsenic including radioactive isotopes from aqueous solutions (including boric acid)
- decontamination of cooling water circuits in nuclear power plants
- the use in primary cooling circuits of boiling water and pressurized water reactors
- cleaning in the blow down process independent on the conditioning with corrosion inhibitors (either hydrazine, morpholine or ethanolamine)
- polishing both in the primary and secondary circuits as a component in mixed beds, combined with Lewatit MonoPlus SP 112 KR or Lewatit MonoPlus S 200 KR.
IMPORTANT! If the Lewatit MonoPlus M 880 KR mixed with Lewatit MonoPlus SP 112 KR or Lewatit MonoPlus S 200 KR, the Lewatit MonoPlus M 880 KR must be thoroughly washed out with demineralized water.Information provided by Lanxess. |
