| Bayhydrol XP 2418 is an aliphatic polyurethane resin dispersion in water, solvent- and amine-free. It is suitable as a binder for waterborne, air- and oven-drying primers for the coating of plastics. It is also suitable for use as a combination binder for base coats and soft-touch coating systems. Properties / Applications: Primers based on Bayhydrol XP 2418 are characterized by good adhesion to many types of plastics, good overcoatability and good water resistance. Forced drying is possible at temperatures as low as 60°C. Bayhydrol XP 2418 is compatible with water-thinnable polyesters and some acrylic dispersions. Given the many resins available, compatibility testing is recommended. Bayhydrol XP 2418 is also suitable as a combination binder for the formulation of basecoats and soft-touch coating systems. In many cases, improved adhesion and water resistance can be obtained. As with any product, use of Bayhydrol XP 2418 in a given application must be tested (including but not limited to field testing) in advance by the user to determine suitability.
