Material Notes:	Continuous length, high strength, high modulus fiber made from a polyacrylonitrile precursor. The fiber surface has been treated to increase the interlaminar shear strength in a resin matrix composite. 3000 filaments/strand, 99+% carbon assay, 6.5 µm filament diameter, 5.5 m/g yield, 16 tpm twist (also available untwisted), 0.1 mm² fiber area in yarn cross section. Solvay has acquired the Thornel product line as a part of the Cytec purchase.
