DuPont Biomax® TPS 2700  (discontinued **)
Categories: Polymer; Film; Renewable/Recycled Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polyester, TP

Material Notes: DuPont™ Biomax® TPS Injection molding resins can help reduce your footprint on the environment: they are a renewably soured and biodegradable solution delivering proven performance in molded articles. Traditional plastics used in packaging deliver high performance in most applications, but use depletable petroleum resources as their primary feedstock. DuPont™ Biomax® TPS Injection Molding resins can provide quality molded articles made from environmentally-friendly starch. The technology used for this unique material comes fro Plantic® Technologies, Ltd.
    Environmental value proposition:
  • Renewably sourced material solution
  • Biodegradable when in contact with water
  • Certified compostable in industrial composting conditions
  • Water flushable
    Performance attributes:
  • Good flexibility
  • Inherently grease-and oil-resistant
  • Sealable, printable, and laser etchable
  • Strong flavor and odor barrier
    Offering application versatility:
  • General purpose for most applications
  • High-flow for thing-wall applications
  • High-stiffness for more durable applications
  • 2 water-resistant grades: Limited contact with water is possible with the water-resistant grades; otherwise, for all other grades, water contact should be avoided.
DuPont™ Biomax® TPS is a renewably sourced offering that can be used in a variety of applications. It is especially appropriate for molded parts that will be used in mostly dry conditions prior to disposal. It offers disposal alternatives to landfills as it can biodegrade in natural environmental conditions. Biomax® TPS is a unique high-amylose starch material so it performs well as a stand-alone material option. Biomax® TPS starch feedstock is of non-genetically-modified origin. DuPont™ Biomax® TPS IM resins contain 53-93% renewaly sourced content by weight.
