Material Notes:	Continuous filament, ultra high modulus strands made from a pitch precursor. The fiber surface has been treated to increase the interlaminar shear strength in a resin matrix composite. This type of fiber was developed for use in stiffness critical applications. 99+% carbon assay, 10 µm filament diameter, 3.12 m/g yield, 0 tpm twist, 0.161 mm² fiber area in yarn cross section. Solvay has acquired the Thornel product line as a part of the Cytec purchase.
