Syensqo (Solvay Specialty Polymers) Acudel® 79000 Polyphenylsulfone, Modified (PPSU, Modified)  (discontinued **)
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polyphenylsulfone (PPSU)

Material Notes: Acudel 79000 is a modified polyphenylsulfone developed specifically for cost-effective aircraft interior applications. Through the use of a proprietary flame retardant package, this resin offers low heat release, low smoke generation and low toxic gas emissions, thereby complying with the FAA regulation 14CFR Part 25.853 Appendix F. In addition, it has excellent impact resistance and meets typical industry requirements for resistance to aerospace fluids, even under stress. Acudel 79000 exhibits behavior similar to Radel® polyphenylsulfone and therefore offers a practical solution for many aircraft applications. Acudel 79000 was developed for extrusion fabrication to produce articles such as profiles, shapes and tubes. This grade has been formulated for colored applications where there is low UV exposure and is suggested for use in applications where coatings, paints or other secondary surface decoration will protect the part from direct UV exposure.

Extrusion Notes: Screw Compression Ratio: 2.5:1 to 3.5:1 Metering Flights: 4 to 10 Take-off Roll Hot Oil Temp: 400° to 450°F Normal Roll Temp: 370° to 420°F
