Dover Chemical MAYLUBE S830 Phosphate Ester Water Soluble E.P. / Lubricity Additive
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: Maylube S-830 is a synthetic E.P. and boundary lubricity agent designed to improve performance and finish on both ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. Maylube S-830 contains no chlorinated or sulfurized materials. Maylube S-830 is a water-soluble compound that produces transparent solutions in all dilutions and can be added directly to most semi-synthetic and synthetic fluid formulations (5-15% treat). However, Maylube S-830 is no compatible with total oil rejecting synthetics. Maylube S-830 can be used as a sump side additive for enhanced performance. A recommended treat would be 1-2 gallons per 100 gallons coolant sump. Maylube S-830 can be used in drawing operations that require an oil-free, easily removed residual film (20-45% treat). Success has been seen in non-ferrous through stainless applications. Maylube S-830 has replaced highly chlorinated drawing compounds in some of these areas. Maylube S-830 has a synergistic effect in cutting applications with Maylube S-003, at an approximately 1:1 ratio. Total treat levels recommended would be 5% for light-duty machining to 30% for tapping operations.
