Material Notes:	Product highlights: CAB-O-SIL CT-1221 fumed silica is a fluidizing additive suitable for use in powder coatings applications and other powders where enhanced free flow and fluidization performance is desired. It is a highly pure silica that has been treated with hexamethyldisilazane (HMDZ). This treatment replaces many of the surface hydroxyl groups on the fumed silica with trimethylsilyl groups, rendering CAB-O-SIL CT-1221 fumed silica very hydrophobic. All treated fumed silicas are characterized by: High purity Aggregated structure Submicron particle size Low bulk density Hydrophobic surface chemistry Key applications: CAB-O-SIL CT-1221 fumed silica provides the following performance benefits in powder coatings applications: Excellent fluidization and free-flow properties Hydrophobic nature provides anti-blocking/anti-caking properties Improves storage stability of powder coatings Improves transfer efficiency and productivity during application of the powder coating High performance can be achieved at low loading levels Enables good film appearance (lack of orange peel) in final coating Information provided by Cabot Corporation
