Viscoelastic foam has a very unique recovery property and very low compression deflection property. When the foam is compressed by a hand it can leave imprint of the hand, and then it slowly recovers to the original shape. Viscoelastic foam has been used in a variety of applications such as toys, pillows, mattresses, and many other unique applications. The components can be processed at room temperature, and the pot life is 30 to 40 seconds. For short runs of smaller parts, it is possible to hand mix and pour to make foam block. Comparing to more common polyester base foam, this formula remain softer at a lower temperature range. Information provided by Northstar Polymers. |
