Sandvik Nanoflex Strip Steel

Material Notes: Sandvik Nanoflex® is a precipitation hardenable, austenitic stainless steel specifically designed for applications requiring high strength and good ductility. The mechanical strength can be remarkably increased by heat treatment (ageing) of the final product, first taking advantage of a soft as-delivered condition favorable for forming. Normally the material is delivered in cold rolled condition, but there is also a possibility to use the grade in annealed condition and still reach a comparably high strength solely by heat treatment.

Sandvik Nanoflex® is characterized by:

  • very high tensile strength can be reached, still with comparably good ductility
  • very high ageing effect
  • hardenable by heat treatment from annealed condition
  • no softening after exposure to temperatures up to 450°C
  • good weldability
  • The grade is also known under the in-house designation Sandvik 1RK91.
