Arkema Lacovyl® GA 6015 Vinyl Copolymer  (discontinued **)
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Vinyl (PVC); Polyvinyl Chloride - Polyvinyl Acetate Copolymer

Material Notes: LACOVYL GA 6015 is a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate with a low molecular weight and a high acetate content prepared by suspension polymerization.

Its main characteristics are :

  • Vinyl acetate content:15%. Viscosity index (ISO 1628-2):50 ml/g,(K value:45). Apparent density (ISO 60):0.80 g/ml.

  • the advantages of GA 6015 are its fluidity in the molten state and the ease with which it gels. This means it can be used at 130°C and gives finished products of excellent uniformity even when high levels of filler are used.

  • its high bulk density ensures excellent levels of productivity on blenders, calenders and extruders.

  • good acoustic quality of the molded records.

  • low level of stampers damage because of the care which is taken to ensure the cleanliness.

RECOMMENDED APPLICATIONS

  • Compression or injection molding of records where a resin which is very fluid in the molten state is required.
  • The characteristics of LACOVYL GA 6015 make it suitable for the calandering of flooring in rolls or in tile form, particularly in formulations where high levels of mineral fillers are used.
