Product Description: HRJ-4047 phenolic resin is an unmodified, thermoplastic resin made from octyl-phenol and formaldehyde. It is compatible with natural and synthetic elastomers, including SBR, BR, IIR and IR. Applications: HRJ-4047 is utilized to develop high tack levels in rubber compounds, especially in synthetic rubber which do not impart inherent tack, for tire construction and mechanical goods. A typical loading is 3-10 phr. HRJ-4047 commonly replaces hydrocarbon resins which would typically need three times the loading to impart the equivalent tack of HRJ-4047 phenolic resin.
