Master Bond EP4NS-80 One component, Epoxy
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Epoxy; Epoxy Adhesive

Material Notes: Key Features:
  • Low viscosity
  • Not premixed and frozen
  • High glass transition temperature
  • Can be used for underfill and impregnation
Product Description: Master Bond EP4NS-80 is a one component, exceptionally low viscosity epoxy for bonding and sealing. Typically, curing is at 80°C for 2-4 hours, and for full optimization of properties, this should be followed by 110-125°C for 1-2 hours. Since it is not premixed and frozen, it is a true one part system, and has an unlimited working life at room temperature. Storage in a refrigerator is recommended. EP4NS-80 possesses excellent dimensional stability, low CTE and minimal shrinkage upon curing. This epoxy bonds well to a variety of substrates such as metals, composites, ceramics and many plastics. Even though it has very low viscosity, it has good tensile strength as well as an exceptionally high tensile modulus. Its optical properties permit good light transmission from 360 nm to 1500 nm. Its low viscosity allows it to be applied by brushing, spraying or even by spin coating. EP4NS-80 has good chemical resistance to water, oils and fuels, as well as acids and bases. Its color is clear. This epoxy is a reliable electrical and thermal insulator. The service temperature range is -62°C to +232°C (-80°F to +450°F). EP4NS-80 can be considered in optical, aerospace, electronics and specialty OEM applications where a low viscosity epoxy is needed. It is especially useful for laminating, impregnating, and underfill applications. In fiber optics, a typical usage is for sealing fibers into ferrules. This system is also an attractive candidate for sealing and protecting coil windings in harsh environments.

Product Advantages:

  • Single component, no mixing needed
  • Convenient handling and curing schedules
  • User friendly packaging
  • For sealing, impregnation and underfill
  • Excellent optical clarity
