Goodfellow Cellulose Acetate
Categories: Polymer; Film; Thermoplastic; Cellulosic; Cellulose Acetate, Molded

Material Notes: An amorphous, transparent and colorless, glossy and reasonably hard thermoplastic with good clarity but only moderate UV stability and chemical resistance. Its high moisture absorption can lead to the normal difficulties of dimensional changes.

Applications include spectacle frames, tool and brush handles and packaging including stiff thin-walled tubes for "display packaging". Films are widely used for graphics purposes and are available from stock in selected thicknesses (and other thicknesses as special orders).

Brand names include Clarifoil, Dexel, and Tenite Acetate.

Information provided by Goodfellow.
