ZEON Nipol® 1072CGJ Carboxylated Nitrile Elastomers (XNBR)

Material Notes: Nipol 1072CGJ is a copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile with medium oil resistance modified to contain free carboxylic groups and is soluble in MEK without mill breakdown. Sufficient antioxidant is added during manufacture for normal storage conditions. Nipol 1072CGJ is supplied in the form of cream to amber colored bales.

General Nipol® Information: Nipol® nitrile (NBR) elastomers are recommended when oil or solvent resistance is needed for the proper functioning of rubber parts. Nipol elastomers are available in a broad range of acrylonitrile content to ensure optimal performance in a variety of conditions. As acrylonitrile content is increased, fuel, oil, and solvent resistance improve; white low-temperature flexibility and resiliency are improved as acrylonitrile content decreases. To obtain a broad spectrum of hardnesses and other essential properties, Nipol elastomers can be blended to achieve optimal performance. Nipol elastomers are especially suitable for thermoplastics and thermoset modification and they are also used as additives in coatings and adhesives.
