Evonik ULTRASIL® VN 2 GR Silica
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: ULTRASIL® VN 2 GR as a precipitated silica is used as a reinforcing filler in all kind of rubber applications.

Properties and applications: ULTRASIL® VN 2 GR is a mechanically compacted granulate. On account of the granulation process it leads to less dust development during mixing. Due to its lower specific surface area ULTRASIL® VN 2 GR has a slightly lower reinforcing potential compared to ULTRASIL® VN 3. It imparts to rubber compounds high Shore hardness, tensile strength, tear resistance and abrasion resistance and offers advantages concerning compound viscosity and processing. In order to achieve optimum rubber-technical data the addition of activators like glycols, amines or other alkaline accelerators is necessary.

Application fields are: Tires, mechanical rubber goods

CAS No: 112926-00-8 and 7631-86-9
