Premix Thermoplastics PRE-ELEC® ESD 6010 Dissipative Masterbatch, IDP Additive
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polystyrene (PS); Polystyrene, Impact Modified

Material Notes: PRE-ELEC® ESD 6010 is a dissipative masterbatch developed for coextruded HIPS-sheets. The active substance is an IDP (inherently dissipative polymer) and it gives a permanent static dissipative property also at low humidity. The surface resistance level of 109-1010 ohms can be achieved at 20-25 % dosing level (EOS/ESD S11.11-1993, IEC 61340-5-1). The let down ratio of the masterbatch with high impact polystyrene should be tested prior to its use with the polymer used in order to reach the desired dissipative level. The thickness of the outer layers can be thin (< 5%) depending on the extrusion line. With good processing the adhesion between the outer dissipative layer and the core layer is excellent. PRE-ELEC® ESD 6010 provides a clean solution for protecting the fragile electronics components. Because of the controlled ion content, the material can be used in clean room applications. PRE-ELEC® ESD 6010 should be diluted with extrusion grade high-impact polystyrene. The performace of ESD 6010 in coextrustion can further be improved by adding ~5% of SBS. This improves the ductility of the outer layer and the adnesion between the layers

Processing: PRE-ELEC® ESD 6010 / HIPS dry blend can be processed in normal processing conditions as with polystyrene.
