A. Schulman LPP10BK38BK 10% Calcium Carbonate Filled, Heat-Stabilized, Impact Modified Polypropylene
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polypropylene (PP); Polypropylene with 10% Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) Filler

Material Notes: 10% Calcium Carbonate Filled, Heat-Stabilized, Impact Modified Polypropylene

Description: Precolored black

Applications: Primary use is for glove box bins with living hinges.

Specifications: Meets/exceeds Ford Engineering Material Specification ESB-M4D605-A.

Comments:
Tensile/Izod Change (1000 hrs./140°C): +5/-1%; ESB-M4D605-A Specification: ±15/-25; ISO 188
Mineral Content: 20.5%; ESB-M4D605-A Specification: 8.0-12.0; ISO 3451/1
Material Pre-dry: Normally it is not necessary to pre-dry this material. However, if conditions dictate drying to optimize material properties and part appearance then dry in a desiccant dryer at 180°F for 2-3 hours or 160°F for >4 hours.
Manifolds: Maintain manifolds, runners and tips 10 to 20°F above the front one temperature to allow easier filling. (Gate drool is best eliminated using screw decompression rather than reducing tip temperature.)
Back Pressure (Range): 50-100 psi. Injection Speed: medium. Screw Speed: medium. Injection Pressure: Adjust to just above a short shot. Injection Time: Adjust to just above a short shot- Weigh pars for consistent packing. Cushion (Range): 0.2-0.5 in. Nozzle Type: Free flowing/Standard.
Some conditions may have to be altered to obtain acceptable parts. Please do not run too cold, molded in stress and rough surface may become a problem. If you must run below melt or temperatures recommended for dimensional precision you may compromise impact and esthetics. Retest parts to confirm performance.
